"Investors are making a $1 million bet on a Raleigh startup’s quest to make farming even more high-tech through satellite imagery. Farm Shots, Inc., which uses both satellite images and drone technology to detect diseases and insect outbreaks in agriculture, has raised nearly $1.1 million in equity financing from eight investors. 

"The round will largely be used to purchase more international satellite data. The company primarily gets its images from satellite subscription services, [Joshua Miller] says. Farm Shots has three full-time employees and six interns. According to the filing, $150,000 of the total will go toward payments to executive officers."
